ICMIF in the News

ICMIF has been prominent in the news of late being featured twice in the last two weeks in the newspaper Insurance Day.

The July 29, 2010 edition of Insurance Day, the only daily newspaper dedicated to the global insurance, reinsurance and risk management industry, carries a double-page feature on ICMIF by Rasaad Jamie and titled ‘Corporate social responsibility and the profit motive’.

This article covers many of the current topics and issues concerning the mutual and cooperative insurance sector and is based on an interview which Rasaad undertook with Shaun Tarbuck, ICMIF's Chief Executive. The article is on pages 6-7 of this edition.

Just over two weeks the later on August 10th the newspaper featured an article titled ‘The Future is Mutual’ highlighting the work ICMIF has done on producing its Mutual Market Share report as well as its top 500 list of mutuals and co-operatives. The article can be found on pages 4-5 of this edition.

Insurance Day is available by subscription and a trial of the publication may be accessed at: www.insuranceday.com/trial

A Global Reach for Local Strength

A Global Reach for Local StrengthThe International Cooperative and Mutual Insurance Federation (ICMIF) is a long established and unique global organisation representing cooperative and mutual insurers from around the world.

The important and common bond uniting ICMIF members is that they place the interest of policyholders/members before those of shareholders, working hard to ensure that they offer the best possible range of affordable products for their customers.

Continually seeking to broaden the scope of member representation has resulted in many new members joining ICMIF, thereby increasing the networking and leverage that ICMIF has in the global financial services market.

ICMIF aims to promote and work with the cooperative and mutual insurance sector globally by being a leader in providing information and services to members, and representing the interests of, the global cooperative and mutual insurance sector.

Working together with the members in this way underpins the Federation’s commitment to providing “a global reach for local strength”.
