Alejandro Simón, CEO of ICMIF member Grupo Sancor Seguros (Argentina) has been recognised as business leader of the year by the Argentinian Association of Business Leaders (ADE, Asociación Dirigentes de Empresas). Simón is also Vice-Chair of the ICMIF Board of Directors.

This prestigious award is granted annually to those leaders who stand out in Argentina, not only for their performance within the firm they manage, but also for their social and environmental commitment. The award seeks to highlight the effort of their daily work.

Speaking about the award, Guillermo Álvarez, President of the Argentinian Association of Business Leaders (ADE, Asociación Dirigentes de Empresas), emphasised the importance of business leaders as fundamental pillars of society. The Association, which has been promoting the training and training of Santa Fe entrepreneurs for more than six decades, recognises the value of those who work tirelessly to promote employment, generate wealth and improve the quality of life in their communities.

Alejandro Simón has had an outstanding career in the business field. He is an actuary graduated with honours from the University of Buenos Aires and holds a professional master’s degree in business management. Since 1998, he has worked at Grupo Sancor Seguros, where he currently holds the position of CEO. He has been Deputy Director of the actuary department, in the Faculty of Economic Sciences of the University of Buenos Aires, since 2009. In addition, he is President of the Centre for Technological, Business and Social Innovation (CITES), and President of the Ibero-American Foundation for Occupational Safety and Health (Fundación Iberoamericana de Seguridad y Salud Ocupacional, FISO). He has held important positions in various national and international organisations, such as ICMIF member ADIRA; the Argentine Network of the United Nations Global Compact; the Geneva Association; and he is Vice-Chair of the ICMIF Board of Directors.

Upon receiving the award, Simón spoke of Grupo Sancor Seguros’ vision of a free-market capitalist economy, but with a human-centred approach. He says he firmly believes in the importance of generating economic results to improve the quality of life of people and highlighted the work of Grupo Sancor Seguros in the provision of efficient services at a fair price and focused on the human being, in addition to its commitment to society through various social and technological initiatives.

Gustavo Badosa, President of Grupo Sancor Seguros, praised Simón’s remarkable development both as a person and as a leader, stating: “I have had the privilege of witnessing first-hand Alejandro’s career within Sancor Seguros”.

With this recognition, Simón reaffirmed his commitment to the development of organisations and the well-being of the community, demonstrating his leadership and vision in the business environment of Santa Fe and nationally across Argentina.
