Last month, ICMIF member Shelter Life Insurance Company, part of ICMIF member Shelter Insurance (USA) was recognised as one of the top-performing life insurance companies in the United States. The “Ward’s 50” list was announced by the Ward Group, an operational consulting firm and leading provider of benchmarking and best practices services to the insurance industry.

“This national award is directly related to the work of our agents and employees,” said Randa Rawlins, President and CEO. “The Ward’s honour highlights the financial strength of our Life Insurance Company and would not be possible without our exceptional teams and I thank them for their continued hard work.”

For the past 33 years, Ward’s has analysed the financial performance of nearly 3,000 property-casualty insurance companies and nearly 700 life-health insurance companies in the United States, identifying the top performers per segment. Shelter Life was recognised for achieving outstanding financial results in the areas of safety, consistency and performance over a five-year period from 2018-2022.

Shelter Life Insurance Company said this recognition by an independent rating and benchmarking firm validates the strength and stability of the company.

Earlier this year, global data and analytics company JD Power announced that Shelter Insurance ranked top for customer satisfaction among auto insurers in the Central Region in their JD Power 2023 US Auto Insurance Study. Shelter received the highest score in the Central region in the JD Power studies for 2018-2019 and 2021-2023. In this most recent study, Shelter was first in the following factors: interaction, billing process and policy information, policy offerings and claims.
