In December last year, New Zealand ICMIF member MAS announced that for the fourth year in a row, the organisation had won the Consumer NZ People’s Choice Award for four insurance categories – house, contents, car and life insurance.
MAS won the People’s Choice Award in these four categories in 2016, 2017 and 2018. In 2019, MAS was the sole winner for the life insurance category, and joint winner of the house, contents and car categories alongside another ICMIF member FMG and AA Insurance.
MAS Chief Executive Martin Stokes (pictured) says the People’s Choice Award reflects the effort everyone at MAS puts into providing outstanding customer service for its members.
“We’ve worked hard for our members for almost a century now to protect them and their families, and to provide them with outstanding customer service.
“Our members know that if something goes wrong, we’ll be there to help and to make things as simple and as efficient as possible.
“We’re pleased to have won this award again but we’re not really in this business for the awards themselves. What matters most about the award is what it represents – our members’ trust in us.”
Consumer NZ’s General Manager – Business Derek Bonnar says it’s an outstanding achievement to win these awards four years in a row.
“Clearly, MAS provides its members with a consistently excellent experience. To win one People’s Choice Award is a great achievement. To win it four times is a testament to the focus that MAS puts on its customers and is something else entirely.
“Consumer NZ endorsements are hard to achieve and MAS thoroughly deserves this accolade”.
MAS had overall satisfaction scores above 90% for each of the house, contents and car insurance categories. MAS also topped the life insurance category with an overall satisfaction score of 80%, which was 33 percentage points higher than the second-ranked insurer.
MAS is a membership-based insurance and investment company for New Zealand professionals. The organisation was founded by doctors for doctors in 1921, and now more than 80% of the medical profession insure with MAS.
