Conference session

Sustainability as a strategic differentiator for mutual/cooperative insurers

ICMIF Centenary Conference 2022

Sustainability has always been part of the DNA of the mutual/cooperative model. However, as the growing market expectations and regulatory requirements are shifting towards all organisations adopting sustainable business practices, how do mutual/cooperatives differentiate themselves through their sustainability strategy and stay ahead of the market? This session looks at practical examples from ICMIF members that have created value through implementing sustainability strategies as part of their strategy to bring to life the mutual/cooperative value proposition across their businesses. The session also looks at how the use of the new ICMIF-calibrated Insurance SDG Calculator can help raise standards and assist members that wish to benchmark themselves against the iSDGs, as well as the Calculator’s wider impact on the insurance industry in general.
