Co-op Insurance (UK) is putting Co-op members in the driving seat with the launch of a brand new member offer. From today until the end of the year, any member who buys or renews their Co-op Car Insurance will get GBP 50 in their Co-op wallet to spend on a range of groceries, products and services. Co-op Insurance will also donate an additional GBP 5 from every policy sold to help out local community food projects right across the UK.
Co-op Car Insurance, which has a 5 star rating from consumer group Defaqto, offers comprehensive cover to give driver’s total peace of mind, including up to 30 days insurance cover in the European Union, an ‘uninsured driver promise’ meaning it will refund the cost of the excess and restore any no claims discount if an accident is the fault of an uninsured motorist, a courtesy car as standard when using an approved Co-op repairer, plus 24-hour accident recovery if a car needs to be recovered.
Co-op Insurance is part of ICMIF member The Co-operative Group (Co-op), one of the world’s largest consumer cooperatives with interests across insurance, food, funerals and legal services. Owned by millions of UK consumers, and employing over 60,000 people, the Co-op has an annual turnover of over GBP 11 billion and is a recognised leader for its social goals and community-led programmes.
Non Co-op members can also benefit from this amazing offer by joining for just GBP 1. For this, they will get a range of exclusive discounts on a number of services from Co-op Food, Co-op Insurance, Co-op Funeralcare and Co-op Legal Services. Members also earn money when they buy selected Co-op products and services: 2p from every £1 spent goes into their Co-op membership wallet and the same amount goes to support community organisations and local causes.
Paul Evans, head of motor at Co-op Insurance, said: “Life is getting more expensive for all of us and we recognise that car insurance can be seen as another additional cost, which is why we wanted to do our bit in giving members GBP 50 back into their Co-op wallet. It’s really important that car owners are fully covered to protect not just themselves, but others on the road, and we hope that this additional money to spend on Co-op goods and services will go a little way in helping out.
“Being a member-owned organisation we are uniquely placed to help our members with offers and benefits that can be used not just in our food stores but also across our insurance, funeral and legal businesses. Shoppers can spend their digital balance on a range of goods or services including Co-op’s ethically-sourced and delicious products, from fresh British meat to award-winning wines, in any of our 2,500 local stores across the country or online at coop.co.uk
“Co-op Insurance is built on an ethos of ‘insurance that’s good’ and as well as our own members, we also want to help others around us – which is why we’re delighted to be able to give an additional donation to local community food projects right across the country.
“We believe this is one of the most generous offers in the market place today for people looking to buy or renew their car insurance. We hope that motorists will be able to enjoy peace of mind knowing they are insured by a company they can trust whilst also taking the opportunity to enjoy some Co-op food and groceries – on us.”
