Swedish ICMIF member, Dina Försäkringar, recently announced that it had become a proud sponsor of the Swedish Biathlon Association with a focus on supporting it in developing the stars of tomorrow. The mutual insurer also announced that it was a national partner of the World Junior Championships in Östersund 2025 and title partner of the junior Swedish national team – Team Dina Försäkringar.
To be able to support young athletes to take new steps in their development, the Biathlon Federation is investing in a junior national team, supported by Dina Försäkringar. The focus is on the younger juniors and their opportunities to fight for prominent positions at the World Junior Championships on home soil in Östersund in 2025. This initiative is now being further strengthened within the framework of the collaboration with Dina Försäkringar.
Speaking at the time of the announcement, Gunilla Svensson, CEO of Dina Försäkring AB, said: “The Swedish biathletes occupy a big space in the hearts of the Swedish people and give many people a lot of joy. The commitment, the down-to-earth approach and the fact that it is an equal national team where men and women compete with the same conditions is something we really stand behind. For us, a long-term perspective is important and therefore it feels fantastic that we, together with the Biathlon Association, can take a grip on the future and support both current and future stars. ”
Through the developed collaboration with Dina Försäkringar, the national team organisation is given the opportunity to take further steps in the investment in the juniors and continue to build a support apparatus around the team to create the best possible conditions.
“We know that the years between 16 and 19 are valuable and challenging in many sports,” said Rikard Grip, Secretary General of the Swedish Biathlon Federation. “To now be able to strengthen our efforts linked to those ages together with Dina Försäkringar feels very good. The fact that we share the same values and that a long-term perspective is a key word for both of us strengthens the collaboration and will be an important part of the investment in the biathletes of the future.”
The partnership between the Swedish Biathlon Association and Dina Försäkringar will also strengthen the associations’ work to create even safer sports environments where specific projects will be carried out.
More recently, Dina Försäkringar announced it is providing further support for the sport of biathlon at the Stockholm Stadium and its “Winterdays” event (27 February to 3 March 2024) by stepping in as the main partner of the event.
“Many people associate the sports holidays with winter sports, so it feels extra fun to help more people experience biathlon on site. Therefore we want to support Winterdays and the opportunity it gives Stockholmers to try winter sports free of charge at home. Most of us can get more fresh air and exercise, and who knows, maybe the star of the future will start his career here,” said Tomas Roos, Head of Web and Communication at Dina Försäkringar AB.
Jan Kowalski, Winterdays Event Manager at the Stockholm Stadium commented on the partnership, saying: “This makes it possible for us to invest in developing the competition to include young people as well. With their commitment, Dina Försäkringar shows that they want to build for the future and invest in the stars of tomorrow. Stockholm is a fairly untested area for recruitment to biathlon. Great fun!”
