FIAR – the International Insurance & Reinsurance Forum takes place from 13 to 16 May 2018 in Bucharest, Romania. The Forum is one of the most important CEE & CIS spring events dedicated to the insurance, reinsurance and private pensions markets. This will be the 21st time that the event takes place and, as usual, it will gather together representatives of all major European insurance and reinsurance companies.
The challenges, but also the opportunities in the local and regional insurance market, along with the trends and expectations for 2018 will be analysed on Monday14 May during the FIAR Insurance Market Trends Conference. Cornel Coca Constantinescu – Vice President, Insurance and Reinsurance Sector of the Romanian Financial Supervisory Authority (ASF) is one of the keynote speakers who will speak at the event, joined by, amongst others, Catherine Hock, Vice-President – International Relations, at the International Cooperative and Mutual Insurance Federation (ICMIF). ICMIF is a Supporting Organisation for the event for the second year running.
Discussions in the event will be based around five major themes:
- The ever-changing landscape of the insurance industry
- Markets in the CEE region within the European
- The concept of mutual insurance
- European legislative changes and the challenges expected in 2018
- Romanian insurance situation: Sustainable development for a stable and constantly developing insurance market
ICMIF supports the International Insurance Reinsurance Forum, as the Romanian Parliament is debating current mutual insurance law.
As part of the debate Catherine Hock says she is looking forward to discussing the benefits of mutual insurance, the benefits of a pluralistic market concept in Europe and key data from ICMIF on the mutual/cooperative insurance sector around the world.
