In order to ratify the membership agreement of ICMIF member Grupo Asegurador La Segunda (Argentina) and the United Nations Global Compact, the Executive Director of Global Compact Argentina, Flavio Fuertes, visited the Group’s sustainable building and delivered the certificate of membership of the Compact to the Board of Directors.
It was received by Isabel Larrea, Chair of the Board of Directors of La Segunda, thus achieving a key objective in the strategic map of the insurer.
The Global Compact is a United Nations initiative through which the signatories commit to incorporating ten fundamental principles based on four pillars into their strategy and operations, the four pillars are: human rights; labour rights; the environment; and anti-corruption.
The meeting also took place in a highly propitious setting, as it took place at the company’s Cooperative Corporate Campus, which was recently awarded the Leed Platinum certification, which is awarded to buildings with the highest standards of efficiency in use and energy management. According to the qualification obtained in the process of this prestigious certification, the Campus is the second most sustainable building in Argentina.
After receiving the certificate, the Larrea highlighted the unconditional support of the Board of Directors and the executive body in this achievement and thanked both the guidance and the trust on the part of the Global Compact, highlighting La Segunda’s commitment to sustainable management practices within the business, as well as the solid integration of the principles of the Pact in the culture of the organization.
The news about the Global Compact comes soon after the announcement by La Segunda of its new General Manager, Mario Castelini, who replaced Alberto Grimaldi after almost two decades.
