Danish ICMIF member LB Forsikring has announced that it is ready to open up to new member groups with the goal of strengthening its relationship and community with a wider range of professional groups.
Following the announcement, all employees in the Danish defence services and all academics can now take out insurance with LB Forsikring. All clinical assistants, podiatrists and skilled social and healthcare assistants will be able to do the same.
‘Historically, we have been an insurance community for those who help others. As a company, we have a social responsibility, and that responsibility is also to look after those who look after others and the world around us. That’s why it’s natural for us to expand the circle of professional groups that can become part of our community,’ says Jan Kamp Justesen (pictured), CEO, LB Forsikring.
In 2023, LB Forsikring created a new strategy, which included work on its partnerships strategy. Up to now, several professional groups working in education, pedagogy and health have been able to become members of LB Forsikring. This will continue to be the case in the future. But going forward, other professional groups will now also be able to join the community, such as everyone working in the Danish defence services and all academics.
‘We see a developing market, where relationships come to an end and new ones emerge. That’s why we’ve been working on setting our own strategic direction over the past year. Our focus is to strengthen LB Forsikring and to ensure that the money always works for the members and the good of the community. Our ability to be relevant and create value for our members today is crucial to our ability to be relevant to our members in the future,’ says Jan Kamp Justesen.
As a consequence of the new strategy, LB Forsikring’s existing collaboration with Denmark’s largest pension company PFA will end on 1 June 2024. The collaboration was established in 2020, and the 11,500 people who have joined LB Forsikring through the collaboration with PFA can remain members of LB Forsikring for as long as they wish.
‘At LB Forsikring, our focus has always been on communities and creating relationships with others who also work for the community. As a company, we are recognised and award-winning for our insurance and services, and not least our member focus in everything we do. We work exclusively for our members and ensure that the money always goes back to them in the form of good products at competitive prices, compensation, obstacle solutions or loyalty discounts, and we will continue to work towards that,’ says Jan Kamp Justesen.
LB Forsikring says it currently has 440,000 members, making it Denmark’s largest member-owned private insurance company.
