Thanks to digital wallet technology, member policyholders of German ICMIF member R+V Versicherung (R+V) can easily find and use proof of insurance on their smartphones.
After a car accident or damage, it is important to exchange insurance data with the other party involved in the accident so that the claim can be settled. Thanks to the R+V digital car insurance card, member policyholders with motor vehicle insurance from R+V can now use this convenient service to quickly and easily transmit the most important details to those who need it.
In order to be able to use the service, the customer receives an e-mail from R+V Versicherung with a download link, which they can use to download the insurance card as a wallet pass and save it on their smartphone. With iPhones, the card is in the Apple Wallet, with Android devices in the Google Wallet.
The advantages of the digital car insurance card are:
- The card contains all the important car insurance data
- Fast and unproblematic exchange of data with the other party involved in the accident by using a QR code
- For quick and easy contact with R+V there are the necessary telephone numbers,
- E-mail addresses, online damage report and link to “My R+V” stored in the wallet
- The card can be stored on multiple smartphones, so all vehicle users can use the card
- Updates are displayed and current information is made available by means of push notifications
The insurance card was developed by R+V together with the start-up Miss Moneypenny Technologies.

The Berlin company has been offering solutions for the smart use of native mobile wallet apps on iOS and Android smartphones since 2016. Since it was founded, the team led by Anna Bojic, Marc Lampe and Vinh Hoi Le Chau has successfully implemented over 50 group projects. With the participation in the InsurLab Batch 2020, the current focus on the insurance industry took place. Insurers receive a digital interface that is available on the user’s personal device without having to develop or download an app. In every application, the solution from Miss Moneypenny Technologies GmbH closes the communicative gap that arises in the customer relationship after the conclusion of the contract, after initial contact or after the damage report.
