As official sponsor of the Argentine national football team, ICMIF member Sancor Seguros has launched a new advertising campaign for the Copa América, the football tournament organised by the South American Football Confederation (CONMEBOL) and which runs from 20 June to 14 July 2024. Through the campaign, Sancor Seguros reinforces its support for the “Scaloneta” (a playful nickname for the Argentine national team which pays homage to its coach, Lionel Scaloni) and highlights the values of teamwork, unity, determination, camaraderie and effort.
After its success at the Qatar 2022 World Cup, the Argentine national team was ready for this year’s Copa América tournament. With Lionel Messi as captain, Sancor Seguros said it believed the national team was ready to defend its title which was obtained at the Maracanã tournament in July 2021, bolstered by high expectations from the people of Argentina with this being its first international competition after it was crowned world champion.
Sancor Seguros has been the official sponsor of the Argentine national team for over 10 years now. “Sport is not only a passion, but a reflection of our core values: teamwork, effort, self-improvement and commitment. Speaking about their sponsorship of the event and the forthcoming tournament, Sancor Seguros said the enthusiasm of all Argentines to see the team on the field again was palpable. For many people the team is much more than just a sports team, it is a symbol of national identity that unites an entire country around the passion for football, which represents the cooperative insurer with all its values.
As official sponsor of the Argentine national team and through its new campaign, the insurer says it is highlighting the values that make people want aim for more, to enjoy the achievements achieved, but always with an eye to the future. For Sancor Seguros, it is a tribute to a passion which unites people, to the determination that drives them and to the dreams that motivate people to always push to achieve more.
* La Albiceleste is another nickname for the Argentine team (after the team’s colours white and sky blue).
Earlier this year, ICMIF announced a new initiative to allow ICMIF members to discuss and share practical examples of successful marketing and brand strategy best-practice, the ICMIF Brand and Marketing Forum. Forum meetings consist of presentations of leading case study examples from ICMIF’s global network of mutual and cooperative insurers. These case studies will look at how organisations articulate and communicate their unique difference through marketing campaigns and brand experience. The Forum also provides a platform for brand and marketing experts to discuss emerging trends, exchange experiences to overcome common challenges, and explores areas that members can collaborate to strengthen the voice of our sector.
