This month, ICMIF member Sandbox Mutual Insurance (Canada) has introduced a new product line known as FarmSecure, announcing that it has expanded its farm products to include three protection bundles and three boxes.

Sandbox Mutual Insurance says the concept of the protection bundles and “boxes” through the FarmSecure product range is a new comprehensive way of bundling and packaging products from the mutual insurer, making protecting farmers’ assets a quicker, more secure, and simpler process. By introducing three bundles for Property, Production, and Equipment protection in addition to three boxes, the Buzz Box, Farm Business Box, and Farm Lifestyle Box, policyholders can have comprehensive coverage with fewer gaps and overlaps.

“The concept of bundling products can offer rewards to Sandbox brokers and our policyholders,” explains David Chapman-Collier, Manager of Product Development. “It not only helps in availing discounts for policyholders but also provides additional coverage, simplifies the decision-making process, and reduces worries. Offering a packaged product with included blanket limits can reduce error and omissions exposures as well as making the quoting process smooth and faster for brokers.”

Included in the Property Protection bundle is all risk blanket limit replacement cost coverage for tools, outbuilding contents, and miscellaneous property and equipment used to maintain farm operations. Within Production Protection, coverage of grain, fodder, silage, fertiliser/chemicals, and fuel for farm input and output operations. Lastly, equipment protection serves to safeguard all risk blanketed harvest machinery and non-harvest machinery, such as all-terrain vehicles (ATVs) for farming purposes, with minimum loss of use limits included.

The Buzz Box protects leafcutter and/or honey beekeepers who do not own a farm or who keep bees in conjunction with their farm operations. The Farm Lifestyle Box is ideal for hobby farms located outside of town limits where livestock and produce are primarily used for personal consumption. The Farm Business Box protects grain, livestock, and/or mixed farming operations over 160 acres.
