US ICMIF member Securian Financial is a “Top Company for Women Technologists” according to AnitaB.org, a nonprofit social enterprise committed to increasing the representation of women technologists in the global workforce.
AnitaB.org recognized Securian Financial and 79 other companies recently as part of the nonprofit’s annual program identifying key national trends on women working in technology. First launched in 2011, the Top Companies for Women Technologists program helps organisations identify areas where they can improve while demonstrating a commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion.
“I am very proud of the work we are doing to build upon our legacy of empowering women in technology,” said Sid Gandhi, Securian Financial’s Chief Strategy and Enterprise Technology Officer. “The diversity of our team has fuelled our enterprise technology transformation, and we will continue to strive to grow a diverse and inclusive workforce.”
Securian Financial, one of the top five overall scorers in its size category, joins the ranks of other top-scoring companies this year including Airbnb, Bank of America, GEICO, Google, IBM, State Farm and others. Securian Financial earned particularly high marks on its recruiting practices and flex-time work options. Women have accounted for 54% of Securian Financial’s technical hires this year, and the company has made workplace flexibility a priority—including establishing core collaboration hours to allow for more flexibility at the beginning and end of the workday.
To keep the momentum going, Securian Financial’s enterprise technology team is exploring new ideas.
