The Brazilian Grow+ Innovation Awards 2020 were announced in September 2020 and Brazilian ICMIF member Seguros Unimed was recognised alongside Arcelor Mittal, Enel and Nestlé in the Corporate Open Innovation Award highlighting the most innovative initiatives in Brazil. The recognition came thanks to the new Seguros Unimed ‘Super App’. GROW+ is a premium start-up accelerator created by investors and innovation-digital transformation specialists in Brazil.
Seguros Unimed says this recognition confirms that the cooperative insurer is on the right track for an innovative, digital and sustainable future thanks to the recognition for its new Super App in the awards.
Head of Innovation and New Business at Seguros Unimed, Dr. Fábio Gastal Leite says: “this recognition reflects the commitment of our employees to create digital solutions that meet the expectations of our customers.”
A culture of innovation is firmly embedded at the heart of Seguros Unimed and this culture guides its actions and strategic planning.
Services and welfare in the palm of your hand
Seguros Unimed launched its Super App to employees and customers this October. The application, brings together all the services offered by the company in one place and is available on the IOS and Android platforms.
The Super App has a differentiated proposition for the cooperative insurer’s members that goes beyond what most customers would normally expect from their insurer. On the services side, it allows access to general information about products that have already been purchased by the member, requests and prior reimbursements and search engines to help people find the right health care.
Also in the Super App, policyholders now have a new digital ID card which aims to provide even more practicality and safety in care. The new digital ID card model will mean it is no longer necessary for members to present a physical card in order obtain care which Seguros Unimed says will help to protect the health and well-being of all by avoiding contact and sharing cards in the times of the Covid-19 pandemic.
A special section has been designed specially to help people during the Covid-19 pandemic, with remote medical and dental consultations and the ability to schedule video consultations with specialists.
In addition, it is possible to access the Insurance company and its partner programmes, to make digital purchases of products (such as life or home insurance and dental plans) and take care of one’s health and well-being with a virtual coach and a system of health goals and targets. All this in the palm of the hand, in a practical and comprehensive way. Click to learn more.
The ‘Super App’ was developed by the Seguros Unimed’s digital innovation unit, Stormia, in partnership with Unio, an Unimed System open applications company.
“The Seguros Unimed Super App highlights the transformation of how we are able to now care for the physical and financial health of people and institutions through the mobile platform. This proposal is part of a new future digital strategy, which aims to improve the experience of customers with our new services”, said Helton Freitas, CEO, Seguros Unimed
