Enabling a hybrid workforce and the role of the office

HR Forum

The work model across all industries was forced to change in 2020 due to the global COVID-19 pandemic. As companies now plan for their return to office, they need to adjust to a new reality. In this presentation, Darryl Wright, National Lead of Talent and Future of Work at EY’s People Advisory Services, shares insights on enabling a hybrid workforce and the role of the office in the future.

Organisations are looking to provide hybrid working to their employees to enable them to continue enjoying the benefits of both remote and in-office work. However, as new certainties arise, leaders need to consider how to balance employee preference with employer preference.

The role of the office is central to how organisations see the world of flexibility and hybrid, and they need to be more deliberate about how they set the office up for success to drive interdependencies like culture, talent and inclusivity, and how to use the office to facilitate increased engagement and productivity.

Embedding hybrid working successfully won’t come without its challenges, and these must not be underestimated. Leaders and managers will play a pivotal role in the shift to hybrid ways of working.

This presentation was delivered during the monthly ICMIF Member-to-Member Discussions for HR Directors. Please contact Mike Ashurst, Vice-President of Reinsurance and Professional Development, to find out more about the HR discussions.
